For its Accessorized 2015 book, showcasing the spring collection of luxury footwear, handbags, and jewelry, Bergdorf Goodman asked Nigel Cox to shoot meticulous still lifes of the items themselves, as well photograph striking New York City scenes to use as backdrops.
“Bergdorf Goodman wanted to highlight their strong New York identity by incorporating images of the city in the book,” Nigel explains. “We shot all of the locations in chilly early December, being careful to avoid any holiday decorations to keep a ‘spring’ feel. Fortunately, we had some nice sunny days.
“Once we had all of our backgrounds,” he continues, “we shot all of the accessories and jewelry in the studio, carefully matching viewpoints and color palettes to integrate with the location shots.”
