The new Showtime series The Affair—starring Maura Tierney, Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, and Joshua Jackson—explores the emotional effects of an extramarital relationship. The adultering couple in question, played by West and Wilson, meet in the Long Island beach town of Montauk, and the key art and publicity images—photographed by Steven Lippman—suggest the feeling of being out to sea, of moral ambiguity, and of finding yourself in a private world removed from everyone else.
Steven’s photographs were used not just in the key art but also in the press kit, which delves deeper into the characters’ lives, the actors, and the series overall.
