The stories from which the winning images came couldn’t be more different from each other: The National Geographic piece was on sugar and Americans’ unrelenting passion for same, and Victoria collaborated with Robert on photos that have a striking, abstract appeal; and the Cherry Bombe feature, which was the cover story for the magazine’s “Baked Issue,” was inspired by Victoria’s concept of a tea party for a precociously artistic child.
