Australian photography magazine Capture recently interviewed a select group of photographers—including Matthias Clamer—for a feature on “How to Tap Into Your Creative Genius.”
“Mostly, creativity comes from a lot of hard work,” Matthias tells Capture. “Creativity is like anything else: The more you do it, the better you become.”
He also discussed his research and prep process and how vital it is to his work. “I believe that one can’t rely on ideas to just fall from the sky,” he says. “Some method or process needs to go into it. Everybody has a different process, but we all have to draw from references and context.
“That’s where method comes in,” he continues. “Where do you look? I think it’s smart to discover and organize many sources to be able to tap into when you have a new job or want to do a new personal project.”
